Making Brides Look Naturally Fabulous
Congratulations! What an exciting time! How wonderful to be planning your big day!
I was in the same situation not so long ago and although I had a small, quiet wedding there were the usual things to think about – flowers, venue, dress, rings, hair and of course makeup.
Obviously as well as the groom and guests seeing your lovely face on the day, there will be photos taken and so your makeup needs to look good through the lens as well as lasting all day.
The first thing I always emphasise is that I want you to look like you. You are the woman that he loves and wants to marry and he doesn’t want a shock when he lifts the veil! I love makeup, as even a tiny bit, strategically applied, can really bring out the colour of the eyes or a fantastic bone structure etc, but I appreciate that many woman are concerned about having it applied.
Do not worry!
I always carry out a trial a few weeks before the big day, during which we chat about the sort of look you are thinking of and the colours and look you are used to. After this I apply your makeup, allow you to look in the mirror and give your opinion. If there’s anything you are not sure about, I will change it until you are happy.
The trial usually lasts about 1 1/2 hours.
On the day itself, I will come to you in plenty of time to set up and then I like to start with bridesmaids and mum (preferably after they have had their hair done) 30 mins for each is usually enough time.
I like to leave the bride until last so that her makeup is the freshest and usually allow 45mins.
I use a variety of top makeup brands including Clinique, Mac, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Lancome and Smash Box and also provide a small touchup kit containing lipstick, nail file, blotting papers and cleansing wipe in an organza bag.

Thankyou so much for everything that you did for me and my bridemaids on my wedding day. I really wanted my makeup to look natural and I was so pleased with the look you created. I still looked like me but my makeup lasted all day for once! It was really good to have someone I trusted with us on the day, and the makeup trials we had in the run up were really useful in helping me work out the look I wanted. I know my bridesmaids were really pleased too. You were so relaxed and calm on the morning which I really appreciated at what could have been a really stressful time but was actually really good fun.
